College

So, this is my first time using the random word generator for a prompt and I got the word college. How fitting. Here it goes.

Freshmen girls with their perfectly tanned butts hanging out of their too short dresses, frat guys being too drunk to function, late night drunken trips to the pizza place. How about no? How about reading Jane Austen under the maple tree on the lawn, drinking tea on the window bench while the rain falls outside, staying up a little late to make the paper just right. How about that? That's what I want college to be like. But it's not. People get stabbed (for real), they throw up, they scream in the middle of the night, they do everything that you would never in your right mind spend $25, 000 a year to do. I want to read outside on my blanket with my sweater wrapped around me as the quickly changing leaves fall to the ground. I want to do this and not be alone. I want to look out and see every other tree on campus occupied by someone else who is lost in a book. But I don't. I just see the trees, standing all alone, because once again the hungover college kids can't get out of bed today.
